The Edward B. Vedder Simulation Laboratory is a state-of-the-art laboratory configured with twelve individual simulation bays, a tabletop exercise area, and a dedicated simulator maintenance room.
The laboratory is equipped with standardized patients (actors), human patient simulators (manikins) and task trainers. These are used by faculty to replicate realistic depictions of chemical warfare agent casualties while allowing rehearsal of critical medical skills.
The facility is utilized for graduate medical education programs to train 1,400 military and civilian healthcare providers annually.
These programs award up to 53,684 hours of continuing education credit.
The Edward B. Vedder Simulation Laboratory was created in fiscal year 2008 as part of the USAMRICD’s recapitalization initiative.
