At MRICD over 250,000 square feet of dedicated research space house unique laboratories and facilities as well as the latest technologies and methodologies in biomedical research to support the institute's research and training missions.
Special Facilities
The MRICD's 525,255-square-foot facility consists of cutting edge laboratories, administrative and logistical areas and a supporting Central Utility Plant.
- Fully Accredited High Capacity Clinical Laboratory
- Affymetrix Core Facility

- Neat and Dilute Agent Labs
- Central Cell Culture Production Laboratory
- Wide Angle Virtual Environment (WAVE) center, a large-scale simulator designed to train medical professionals in battlefield, homeland defense, and natural-disaster scenarios.
- The Edward B. Vedder Simulation Laboratory, used by training faculty to replicate realistic depictions of chemical warfare agent casualties while allowing rehearsal of critical medical skills.
- Medical library with over 1,757 books, 71 journal titles, and access to a variety of search databases
Research support services capabilities include necropsy, histopathology, clinicopathology, immunohistochemistry, laser capture micro-dissection, and ultramicrotomy.
